One thing is certain in Sweden. Nature is big enough to be in the complete silence of nature in 20 minutes even after leaving the city by bus.
At the end of the summer, we bought two fishing kayaks, which for us have several advantages compared to a normal sit-in kayak. You can take a lot of stuff with you and it's much harder to get covered in it.
Our first trip with the kayaks took us to the border of Gothenburg to Vättlefjäll, a lake system where you can collect experiences in 12 km, passing through several water corridors and several lakes.
Let's say this includes the fact that there are sections where you cross the lakes, which made us more tired than the kayaking itself. Our smaller kayak is 27 kg, while the larger one is 36 kg, for which we used a wheel for the longest lift, which also travels with us in the rear luggage compartment together with the bags.
Driving along the lake, we can stop for lunch whenever we want. We now stopped at a beach shelter hut, but we had lunch sitting on the rock.
These shelters are also available during the tour and you can sleep there in a sleeping bag at any time. On foot, the area is part of the bohusleden hiking trail.
The lake is full of small islands that can only be reached by rowing. Because of this and the passages connecting the lakes, the experience is very exciting.
If someone does not have their own kayak or canoe, there is a canoe rental at the starting point, where the rental for the whole day is 350 kr (approx. 12,600ft), with everything included.
